Where it all started...Over 20 years ago I used to work for the Parks Department in Hove, East Sussex. Then one day I saw the Council's Tree Team appear out of nowhere in a blaze of glory, perform their work, then they were gone again. In those days you didn’t see Trees Surgeons about so much, unlike nowadays. There was a mystique about them which fascinated me and I wanted to be a part of it.
Of course I finally made it. Then followed my baptism of fire and the hardest eight or so years of my life! So far during my time worked on contracts for The National Elm Collection in Brighton and Hove, Local Authorities, MOD sites, National Trust and English Heritage locations, The Royal Parks in London and many, many domestic properties along the way. After this I moved West and whilst subcontracting with one of the most highly regarded Tree Surgery teams in the area I decided to dedicate all my energies on Arborcadabra. |

People I work withOn any given day, you could meet one of these people working with Arborcadabra...
NICK CONNETT
I’ve worked with Nick for over 15 years from way back in Brighton. With an offer of work he’s partly the reason I moved West. He even introduced me to my wife. Nick is well known around the area. His experience with large dismantles and working with cranes is very well regarded but again there’s the flair and eye for getting smaller trees just perfect. A very conscientious tree surgeon who is never happier than when he’s tending to his Bonsais. |

JUSTIN COOPER
Justin and I have worked together since nearly the beginning. In fact Justin pipped me to the position I coveted so much, way back when in Brighton! An incredibly passionate tree surgeon with a wealth of experience spanning 20 years or so in the industry. There’s not much Justin won’t squirrel his way to the top off but loves pruning small garden trees so they just work right in their surroundings. He is currently also studying fine furniture making at Bridgewater College. |

DAN MASTERMAN
Dan is relatively new to the industry, in comparison to the rest of us. With around 7 years experience you could be forgiven for thinking he’s been around a lot longer. In that time he’s gained a huge amount of experience covering all aspects of tree work and how to go about it. With a thirst for knowledge and a high level of professionalism Dan brings with him a refreshing outlook on the Arboricultural Industry as it is today. He is a skilled Artisan Woodworker and will always have an eye open for a useful bit of this or interesting bit of that. |

SAM HIBBARD
Sam and I met whilst working for a well known tree surgery company in Bath. We both still work together there from time to time as we all share the same ethics about getting the job done well but importantly enjoying the time you spend achieving those results. A very keen wood turner, just don’t get him talking about it. There is work to be done. |
